Father of Our Lord Jesus Christ,

In Christ you reveal to us your truth.
Help us to be a faithful Church
founded on Christ and built in his love.
Renew the vision of your people in this Diocese.
Open our minds and hearts to your calling
to make the gospel known
and to bring many to faith.
Let your Holy Spirit move amongst us
inspiring in our parishes life, prayer and service.
Help us to grow into the Church you call us to be
and bring us all to the joy of the Resurrection,
Through our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ
who is the way the truth and the life.

The Nine Marks of a Faithful Church

1. All Church members are renewed and empowered in their personal faith in Christ and are able to give a clear account of that ‘Faith once delivered to the Saints’
2. The Church is Eucharistic and inspired by the Holy Scriptures and enflamed by prayer.
3. Mission is the central characteristic of diocesan and parish life
4. Strong numbers of men presenting for ordination
5. Co-operative and fruitful ministries at the diocesan and parish level involving clergy and laity
6. Churches are growing in numbers and inclusive in membership
7. Stewardship is welcomed as a central feature of Christian discipleship
8. Resources are released at diocesan and parish level.
9. Churches reach out to the communities around them in love and service.
